Following Kazuki Omori's Godzilla vs. Godzilla (Story Plan A), Toho monster designer and artist Shinji Nishikawa proposed expanding the kaiju cast with monsters outside of just Godzilla. While not many details of his version of the story are known, in terms of supporting cast, a new monster was set to appear: Baraguirus, a four-legged beast with aspects of both Anguirus and Baragon. While previous drafts had Ghost Godzilla possessing Little Godzilla, this one would have seen Baraguirus falling victim to possession instead. Nishikawa submitted this draft December 22nd, 1994.
Sometime following this pitch, the idea for a "Godzilla versus Ghost Godzilla" would be scrapped, with director Takao Okawara citing that three movies in a row where Godzilla faces off against creatures that resemble him (Mechagodzilla in 1993 and SpaceGodzilla in 1994) was simply too much. |
