History

A four-legged monster with the traits of both Anguirus and Baragon, and a contender to be Godzilla's final opponent to close out the Heisei "VS Series". While its abilities are largely unknown, Baraguirus would have been adept at digging underground, much like Baragon. The subterranean monster would eventually cross paths with the ghost of the original Godzilla, becoming the new host for the wicked spirit, and mutate into a new form.

Despite combining the powers of two familiar monsters, Baraguirus would be passed in favor of Hideki Oka's shapeshifting monstrosity, Barubaroi, to act as Godzilla's adversary.

Trivia
  • The render of Baraguirus in the article picture is an interpretation by Toho Kingdom staff. It was not created by Toho nor is it their official look for the unused character.
  • The mention of this monster can be found in the 2017 Japanese publication Godzilla vs. Destoroyah Perfection (ISBN: 4798615811).
  • In an interview with Shinji Nishikawa conducted by Toho Kingdom in 2018, Nishikawa revealed that due to there being no quadruped monsters in the Heisei series up to that point, and also influenced by the unused idea of having Moguera from Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994) fight underground, Baraguirus was created to fulfill these roles.
