History

A monstrosity born from the union of Baraguirus and the ghost of the original Godzilla. While most early ideas for Godzilla's final opponent consisted of LittleGodzilla becoming Ghost Godzilla's conduit, "Ghost Baraguirus" would have seen the 1954 Godzilla's malevolent spirit possessing the four-legged Baraguirus and mutating it into a new monster.

However, Ghost Godzilla and its various iterations were not meant to be. Following director Takao Okawara's comments on how having three movies in a row feauring Godzilla-like opponents was too much, the transforming monster Barubaroi would end up becoming Godzilla's next foe, with the Barubaroi concept further evolving into Destoroyah.

Trivia
  • The render of Ghost Baraguirus in the article picture is an interpretation by Toho Kingdom staff. It was not created by Toho nor is it their official look for the unused character
  • The mention of this monster can be found in the 2017 Japanese publication Godzilla vs. Destoroyah Perfection (ISBN: 4798615811). While the mutation goes unnamed, Baraguirus is said to transform due to the "influence" of Ghost Godzilla.
