LOST PROJECT HISTORY

An early draft for "Godzilla 7". Following closely behind Godzilla vs. Giant Monster Varan's submission, Godzilla vs. Godzilla (Alternate Draft) saw the modern day Godzilla's son, Godzilla Junior, being warped back to 1954 to do battle with the original Godzilla from Godzilla (1954). Though not many details of this draft are known, it would be the first to feature a "Godzilla vs. Godzilla"-type storyline before Shogo Tomiyama's Ghost Godzilla proposal.

Details can be found in John LeMay's The Big Book of Japanese Giant Monster Movies: The Lost Films (ISBN: 1548145254). Text simply refers to the proposal as "a "Godzilla vs. Godzilla" concept" that was discarded fairly early on.
Is not to be confused with Godzilla vs. Junior Godzilla, wherein Godzilla Junior battles his father as opposed to the 1954 Godzilla.
