Learning from their mistakes of the Sherman and Chaffee tanks, the military of Japan created the next generation in ground forces. Equipping this new tank, a 90 mm cannon was chosen. Able to stand longer periods of firing time and shelling heavy ammo, the Type 61 Tank became a favorite of the Self Defense Force. Produced in mass quantities, the machines set across the plains and attacked their targets from healthy distances. Steel jacketed bullets were hurled at the distant kaiju with deadly force and accuracy. Because of the distance capabilities and the more powerful weapon systems, the 61 Tank would be adopted for the duration of Godzilla's presence on land.
