Best known for her
role as Momoko Ryugaski in Kamikaze
Girls (2004), Kyoko Fukada started her
acting career in her mid-teens doing several
TV shows. In 1998, Fukada made the jump to film
with a movie for Shochiku, which was followed
up with the actress landing a small role in Ring
2 (1999)
at age 16. That same year, Fukada followed the
path of many other Japanese "idols" by branching
out into a music career, releasing her first
album Dear....
By 2003, at age 21, she
started to appear in Toho productions, including Like Asura and Onmyoji
II. In 2004, Fukada got a lead role in Kamikaze
Girls, garnering a loyal following with
the film's success. Since then, the actress
has primarily focused on her TV career, although
still appears in films but has started to move
away from her status as a singer. |
