About Super Robot Wars X-Ω

Launching on Android and iOS mobile platforms on October 5th, 2015, Super Robot Wars X-Ω (or, “Super Robot Wars Cross Omega”, often shortend to and here known henceforth as "SupaKuro") was a free-to-play Tower Defense styled game that featured a crossover extravaganza of multiple franchises within Japanese media, including Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, Super Sentai, Gundam, Gurren Lagann, Full Metal Panic!, and more.

Perpetuated by updates, new game modes, additions, and collaborations, SupaKuro ran until the game finally closed its servers on March 30th, 2021. A limited time download of an offline archive of the game’s scenarios, player units, and other features was made available only up to June 30th, 2021.

Collaboration

In August 2016, as part of the Godzilla vs. Evangelion collaboration event in celebration of Shin Godzilla (2016), the game included the likes of Godzilla and Kiryu as battle units.

The event featured Godzilla as his 1999/MireGoji appearance (although his portrait gave him KiryuGoji proportions with MireGoji colors) and two variations of Kiryu. The first was based on its appearance from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002), piloted by Akane Yashiro; the second was based on the collaborative Eva-01 colored Kiryu, which was piloted by Evangelion’s Shinji Ikari.

Several years later in April 2020, SupaKuro would later collaborate with Toho once more, along with Sunrise, to bring Gunhed 507 from Gunhed (1989) into the fold. Alongside the appearance of the mech was its operator Brooklyn, with actor Masahiro Takashima reprising the role. This would be the last of Toho’s collaborations with SupaKuro until the game's closure in 2021.
