| Standard Game Areas |
 |
1:
Nazca Rain Forests |
The
introductory stage, the Nazca Rain Forests feature a
rather slow stream of enemies before approaching an
expansive alien base, which is also equipped with a
robust defense system. The stage is long, and at the
end the player will be greeted to their first, of many,
end stage bosses.
Boss: Zolba |
 |
2:
Battle Platform |
The
stage starts in the barren vacuum of space with a constant
supply of enemies approaching the Aleste. Eventually
the craft will fly over the giant alien space station
Lono, where it will battle with the war machine's numerous
built in weapon systems before finishing off the station
once and for all.
Boss: Lono |
 |
3:
Outpost A |
The
first of three Outpost stages, these areas are both
short and very straight forward. However, a great deal
of the stage's background can be destroyed for either
points or items. Also, these areas differ from normal
ones in the game because the boss appears mid-level
to attack the player before reappearing at the stage's
end.
Boss: Sentry |
 |
4:
Nebula |
The
fourth stage features a large array of structure mounted
weapons, while also having unique obstacles like expanding
and contracting moons along with ships that leave a
ray in their wake that must be destroyed.
Boss: Janel |
 |
5:
Caves |
The
longest stage in the game, this area has the Aleste
going underground and through a twisting maze of rock
till it reaches the other side. The Caves boast a large
number of obstructing rock masses that must be quickly
destroyed if the craft is to make it through, while
drill like enemies will occasionally create paths through
the rock that the ship must immediately follow.
Boss: Nardork |
 |
6:
Outpost B |
The
second outpost stage, this area features a lot of scenery
for the Aleste to destroy and reap the point benefit
from. Like all outpost levels, the stage's boss, the
Bomber, appears mid-level to assault the Aleste before
appearing again at the stage's end for a final counter
offensive against the player.
Boss: Bomber |
 |
7:
Asteroid Field |
The
Aleste will navigate through a barren plain of rocks,
dodging the oncoming asteroids until the ship reaches
large platforms that feature a wide variety of weaponry
along with built in defense walls to keep the armament
well protected.
Boss: Rubar |
 |
8:
Decimated Fleet |
With
twin planets in the distance, the Aleste travels through
a field of decimated ships left from a failed resistance
attempt by Earth's forces. Unfortunately, the alien
invaders have seized control of what's left of the fleet
and are now utilizing the weapon systems against the
Aleste.
Boss: Nont |
 |
9:
Outpost C |
The
last of the Outpost levels, this stage features a wealth
of enemies to destroy and power-ups for the ship to
reap. However, the boss is a little less predictable
here than in previous areas, as it will emerge from
the bottom of the screen to attack the player, which
can easily catch the player off guard if they are hovering
near the edge of the screen.
Boss: Gunner |
 |
10:
Alien Rain Forests |
As
the name suggests, this stage is very similar to the
first chapter in the game, with even the same boss making
a reappearance. However, the difficulty has been noticeably
ramped up as enemies come at the Aleste in far greater
numbers.
Boss: Zolba |
 |
11: High Velocity
Tunnel
|
The
stage starts out with no enemies, but the surrounding
area moves at an incredibly velocity that requires the
Aleste to navigate quickly if it's to survive (using
the craft's highest speed setting helps tremendously
here). Following this, the stage slows down as turrets
and other enemies populate the relatively short stage.
Boss: None |
 |
12:
Organic Lair |
The
final chapter in the game, the Organic Lair has the
Aleste entering a nucleus like chamber where celluloid
based life forms relentlessly assault the ship. The
Organic Lair is the only stage in the game to feature
more than one boss, as two old adversaries will confront
the player before they reach Super Aleste's
final boss.
Boss: Nardork,
Nont, Overlord |
