End Level Bosses

Zolba

The giant war machine Zolba is equipped with four guns and a large central cannon, which is nestled behind the giant orb. The war machine will start its assault by using its four guns until it extends its two side rails to reduce the Aleste's field of movement. The central orb will then detach, firing shots as it rolls across the screen. The second time Zolba appears, bombs will be added to its arsenal.

Location(s): Nazca Rain Forests, Alien Rain Forests

Lono

The central command post for the gigantic battle station Lono, this boss is really a series of nine turrets. All but two of the turrets, the center left and right ones, have very little health to the point where a single MegaBomb will destroy them. As expected, the two guns that flank the center also have the most devastating attack as they launch spiral like blasts, which the player must strafe to avoid.

Location(s): Battle Platform

Sentry

The Sentry will appear mid-stage to attack the player, discharging several small blasts in numerous directions. Regardless of how much damage it receives, although dealing more damage will cause it to retreat faster, the Sentry will appear again at the end of the first Outpost area for a final confrontation with the Aleste.

Location(s): Outpost A

Janel

Unlike other bosses, Janel doesn't attack the Aleste directly, instead opting to deploy five small ships at a time which can each fire a shot. The oval shaped metal casing around the hull of the ship will act as a shield and deflect shots. The only chances the player has to injure the ship is when its moving with the shield off, or the sides have opened to deploy ships.

Location(s): Nebula

Nardork

The Nardork war machine is equipped with a missile launcher along with two giant side drills that can be used to either try and strike the Aleste or to dig out large chunks of rocks to be tossed (which it can only do in the Caves). This boss can only be damaged while its central "eye" port is open.

Location(s): Caves, Organic Lair

Bomber

A very simplistic boss as the Bomber will only strafe, rather slowly, across the screen while releasing small payloads of bombs. Like all "Outpost Bosses", the Bomber will appear more than once in the level and can only truly be defeated near the end, where a strategy of staying in the lower center of the screen and releasing continuous fire is often enough to down it without being hit.

Boss: Outpost B

Rubar

A large attack station, Rubar is equipped with six turrets that fire several distinct blasts. The station will only use one turret at a time; however, the turrets can only be damaged while they are open and discharging fire at the Aleste. After all six ports of the station are destroyed, the central orb will go into action and attack the player until it is also destroyed.

Location(s): Asteroid Field

Nont

The Nont will travel around the area as four circular craft surround it, similar to the Aleste's Circle move. The ship will also occasionally drop a large payload of triangle shaped objects. When enough damage is dealt, the circling craft will disembark to try and ram the player, and it's at this point that they can actually be injured. Once this happens, Nont will begin to unleash a large array of lasers.

Location(s): Decimated Fields, Organic Lair

Gunner

Despite its appearance, the large machine-gun like attachments on the craft will actually release small drone ships (two at a time) instead of firing on the Aleste. This is also the ship's only means of attack; however, it is fairly unpredictable as it does hit and run tactics, making the edges of the screen unsafe as one never knows what direction it will spring from.

Location(s): Outpost C

Overlord

The final boss, this creature will stay at the top of the screen as minions, such as other skull-like heads and more celluloid type enemies, assault the Aleste. The only time the boss can be injured is when the central head leaves the protective casing, which will be for only brief durations.
