| Monsters |
There are five monsters total in Godzilla vs. 3 Giant Monsters, three of which are enemies.
Godzilla
The only playable monster in the game. Godzilla is fairly slow, but has a long-range atomic breath to compensate. He can walk and fire diagonally, as well as straight up or straight down, allowing for some mobile and attacking flexiblity. The only downside to the atomic breath is that it lasts for several seconds after being fired, leaving Godzilla vulnerable. Landing a direct hit on a monster gives Godzilla points, which accumulate at the bottom of the screen.
Lives are depicted by the Godzilla head icons above the Hi-Score. Though there are only four icons, Godzilla has 5 lives total. Losing all lives leads to a Game Over and restarts the game. If Player 2 mode is active, Player 2's score will appear to the right of the Hi-Score. |

Megalon
The easiest boss in the game. Megalon may either burrow out of the ground when entering the stage, or crawl up the side of the map. He will charge towards Godzilla recklessly; if he touches Godzilla, the player loses a life. Hitting Megalon with Godzilla's atomic breath causes him to respawn somewhere else on the map. If the player takes too long to hit Megalon, he digs underground, creating a hole. It takes several hits from an atomic breath to defeat Megalon and progress.
The holes Megalon creates remain until after defeating the final boss. If Godzilla gets too close to the holes, he falls in and loses a life. |

Kumonga
This boss fight takes place against two Kumonga. One will fire a long-ranged web attack at Godzilla, and the other a flashing homing sting attack. Both Kumonga are hurt by landing a direct hit from Godzilla's atomic ray. They can be hit as soon as their heads appear and during their attacks, but cannot be harmed when they sink back into the ground.
After several hits, both spider monsters will begin attacking more quickly. After one Kumonga is destroyed, the other Kumonga will fire both the web and homing sting attack simultaneously. Defeat the last Kumonga to progress to the final stage.
Kumonga's web attack is fired in a random direction downward; it is never fired upward. If it catches Godzilla, it slowly drags him towards Kumonga and its pit, causing Godzilla to fall in and lose a life. To escape, you must hit Kumonga with your atomic breath. Using your atomic breath also stalls Kumonga's pull.
Kumonga's flashing homing sting attack homes in on wherever Godzilla was standing when the shot was fired. Simply avoid the move by walking away; it disappears once it touches the side of the screen. If it makes contact with Godzilla, the player loses a life. |

King Ghidorah
The final boss of the game, King Ghidorah swoops down from the skies when it enters. This time, Godzilla must not only fight King Ghidorah, but also protect Minilla, whom spawns in once King Ghidorah appears. Minilla moves very slowly around the bottom of the screen, and cannot be touched or harmed by Godzilla himself.
To defeat King Ghidorah, Godzilla must land a direct hit with an atomic breath. King Ghidorah is fairly slow moving, and moves from side-to-side while making his way downward towards Minilla. It also has a fairly long-ranged gravity bolt projectile, which can be fired from all three heads. Flanking King Ghidorah from the side is the best bet at hitting it with an atomic ray and sending the giant dragon retreating. Depending on how far down King Ghidorah traveled determines how many atomic breath attacks it takes to send him away. |

Minilla
Godzilla's son appears as an NPC during the final boss fight with King Ghidorah. Minilla very slowly walks around the bottom of the screen.
On the final level, Godzilla must protect Minilla from the giant dragon. Minilla will start to walk faster as King Ghidorah draws near, and will make a yelping noise. If King Ghidorah's gravity bolts make contact with Minilla, or if Minilla falls into any holes, it results in an instant Game Over. |
