"The planet is under siege… protect it from complete destruction as Godzilla, the towering titan of our time! Roam the earth battling notorious mega-monsters, an alien invasion and ongoing military attacks. Take your mammoth size and rage online to smash sworn enemies in a crushing display of melee madness. This is monumental, city-trampling action that kicks serious tail."
Side note: The game is referred to as "Godzilla: Great Monster Fray - Earth's Final Decisive Battle" in the Japanese version. On Japanese adverts, the copyright listed this title as "Godzilla™ Kaiju Dairanto Chikyu Saishu Kessen", being a mix of English and Romaji.

Power-ups
Power-ups are dropped by UFOs and come in several varieties. Walk over a power-up to receive its benefits.
Health Power-up
Your monster receives an instant, life-saving boost.
Note: Health power-ups are not available in Survival Mode.
Energy Power-up
Fully restores a monster's energy meter, temporarily increases the energy recharge rate, and increases the monster's attack speed. Energy power-ups increase ammo counters for monsters that require ammo rather than energy.
In certain Challenges, the Energy power-up acts as a Time power-up instead. Collecting it increases the amount of time you have left in the Challenge.
Air Strike Power-up
Battra or the Super X3 immediately flies in and bombards your opponent from the air. When your opponent acquires the Air Strike power-up, take cover near or behind buildings. If you can't take cover, try to stay on the move!
When summoned, Battra uses a stream of weak Prism Beams to injure the opponent. This attack does a fair amount of damage so long as the opponent remains in Battra's range.
The Super-X3 fires several short rounds of missiles, ending with a freezing shot that temporarily incapacitates the opponent. The freezing shot cannot freeze jumping, airborne, digging, or prone monsters.
Rage Power-up
Activates Rage Mode. In Rage Mode, normal attacks deal 120% damage and additional knockback power, and attack speed is slightly increased. Additionally, each monster gains access to its special Rage Attack (X + Circle on Playstation 2, A + B for Xbox). Rage Mode lasts for 25 seconds.
If playing as Mothra Larva or Mothra Imago, the Rage power-up gives health and energy instead, and neither form enters Rage Mode.
Victory Taunts
After winning a match, each monster has a unique victory taunt or roar. Below are all 19 victory roars in the game.
Roars and Taunts
Doing Square + O on the Playstation 2 version or B + X on the Xbox version will cause the monster to do a taunt. Below are all the roars and taunts in the game.
Rage Attacks
The game contains 19 characters, 18 of which have a Rage Attack that is triggered by collecting the Rage Power-up. The exception is Mothra, whose Imago and Larva forms do not have a rage attack. Below are all 18 Rage Attacks, along with what happens when Mothra picks up the power-up.
Monster Intros
Each monster has an intro that plays at the start of battle. Below are all 19 character intros.
