Money and the Defense Forces

Money is used to purchase bases and upgrade units. Currency is earned through a variety of different methods, including:

  • MoneyDamaging enemies
  • Beating monsters
  • Beating kaiju or Godzilla
  • Bonus from swiping the screen after beating a kaiju or Godzilla
  • Completing challenges
  • Returning to a location after being idle
  • Repairing bases
  • Relief packages after being defeated
  • Moonstone card packs
  • Completing the UFO event stage

The last six methods are influenced by the DPS (damage per second) of the city. This DPS number is shown in the upper left, below the current amount of money the player has. Essentially, the higher the damage of the location the more money is earned from these activites. In the case of the Moonstone card packs and the UFO event stage, the money earned is the DPS across all currently unlocked locations.

As for the units of currency, it's starts out with no notation, then switches to thousands (k), millions (m), billions (b) and more. It eventually covers all 26 combinations of aa-zz before switching to e93 and similar figures. This includes: e96, e99, e102 and other multiples of three. However, despite the fact that many unit displays are available to show the huge amount of money the player has accumulated, e105 is the largest amount needed to afford all the upgrades, the most expensive of which is the 1.99 e105 cost for the final upgrade to the Dimension Tide on the Moon.

Base Facility Upgrades

Bases can be upgraded to greatly increase the performance of the units that are produced from them. These upgrade points happen after a base has reached a certain level, and are much more costly than a normal level. These upgrade points and advantages are:

  • ArtifactLevel 25 : Damage x2
  • Level 50 : Damage x3
  • Level 100 : Damage x4
  • Level 150 : Damage x10 and unit upgrade
  • Level 200 : Damage x20
  • Level 250 : Damage x30
  • Level 300 : Damage x40
  • Level 400 : Damage x100 and unit upgrade
  • Level 600 : Damage x1,000
  • Level 800 : Damage x10,000
  • Level 1000 : Damage x100,000

Defense Force Bases

15 different defense force bases are found in the game, each of which has three stages. These bases produces units that are sent to attack the invading monsters or kaiju sent by the Xilien. The stages sometimes vary greatly in the type of units that are sent, even though the name doesn't change. For example, the Rocket Launcher initially deploys its namesake: rocket launchers. However, when fully upgraded, Type 66 Maser Cannons are deployed instead despite the name not changing.

Tapping and Auto-tap Timers

In the game, tapping on the screen produces a unit from the Command Center. This can be done with one finger or multiple fingers, to produce units even faster. In addition, auto-tapping is available which will cause taps to happen automatically on the screen at a speed of multiple taps a second. This auto-tap timer for a listed period of time, and will be counting down regardless of what screen the player is on.

Auto-tapThe process to initate auto-tap works by spending either 100 X-nium for 30 minutes of auto-tap or by watching an ad. In the case of the advertisment approach, this works by levels with each level increasing the length of the auto-tap. Unlocking levels are done by triggering more auto-tap timers, and reset at midnight back to level one. These levels are:

  • Level 1
    5 minute duration
    2 auto-tap timers to upgrade
  • Level 2
    10 minute duration
    3 auto-tap timers to upgrade
  • Level 3
    15 minute duration
    4 auto-tap timers to upgrade
  • Level 4
    20 minute duration
    5 auto-tap timers to upgrade
  • Level 5
    30 minute duration

The troop produced from tapping is the same as the one normally produced by the Command Center, meaning that upgrades still apply to it. Note that tapping only produces troops as well, regardless of whatever bases are unlocked on the stage. As a result, tapping benefits the player greatly at early points in a location while doesn't contribute much at all as more bases are unlocked.

Units by Location

Each location features 6-8 different bases, which are predetermined and unlocked in order. As bases are unlocked the stage zooms out, meaning the view will appear zoomed out by the time all units have been purchased in an area.\.

Below are the bases found at each location, in the order they are unlocked. In addition, the cost for the final upgrade of the most expensive unit there is noted as well, to guage how much money might be needed to max out units there:
