★★★★ Battle Piece Leveling
Four star units and leaders require the fewest amount of both G-tokens and Battle Pieces compared to others. However, due to the rarity of acquiring those pieces, they are generally the hardest to level up. Thankfully a G-material item was introduced to help make this process easier.

With version 1.4.8, the G-material item was released.

This rare material can be used to replace a missing battle piece for upgrading these ★★★★ units. That said, you must have the required battle pieces and upgrade materials to use them. For example, if your King Ghidorah 1991 is at level 15 it would require having 2 battle pieces already along with a 4★ Upgrade G-material in order to level him up. If you only had one battle piece you would be unable to use the upgrade material.
Also to note is that using the G-material item don't immediately count as acquiring a new battle piece for the sake of achievements. For example, if you had 21 battle pieces before upgrading using three G-material your achievement would still show as 21. For them to count you need to acquire a battle piece in another means, such as in an expedition map, at which point the game will re-tabulate and count prior uses of G-material as earning a piece.
With version 4.3.0, the G-material Lite item was released.

This functions similar to a regular G-material, where it replaces a missing battle piece for upgrading ★★★★ units. However, it differs as it can only be used to take a unit up to level 9. In addition, this item is limited in terms of what units it can be used on, often excluding the latest ones. Finally it also expires if not used, and will list the expiration date prior to acquiring it.

Due to the restriction of only being able to upgrade to level 9, G-material Lites have the unique ability to be used even when there are remaining battle pieces. As shown above, a level 1 Gyaos 1967 had three stored battle pieces. Normally, clicking the upgrade button would consume one of those before allowing the use of a regular G-material. However, with the G-material Lite, players are given the option to use it instead. This allows players to accumulate battle pieces, use the G-material Lite to reach level 9, and then begin using battle pieces to continue upgrading past that point. |
