Story / Tutorial

"Welcome to the world of Godzilla Battle Line! Command a team of monsters, and take down your opponent's leader monster!

The monsters [from the active deck area] will make up your team. To deploy a monster onto the battlefield, simply swipe the monster up. A monster will act on its own once deployed. A leader monster cannot move, but it will attack nearby enemies. Leader monsters can use powerful Special Moves."

The tutorial involves summoning Rodan, defending against Kamacuras with a missile, using Godzilla's Special Move and finally deploying Anguirus and defeating the opposing leader monster.


Player Rank

There are several different progress areas in the game for the player, including arena rank, season grade and player rank.

For the player's rank, this boosts the stats of the leader. That boost is seen in blue text next to HP and attack or attack range for the leader. For example, for Godzilla at player rank level 1 is shown as "HP 800 + 90". Oddly, the boost varies from leader to leader. For example, at player level 1 Godzilla 1989 gets +90 HP and +3 attack range while Mechagodzilla 1993 gets +100 HP and +5 attack. The boost for each subsequent level looks from an early observation to be an additional 10% on the HP boost and another +1 to attack range or attack. For example, at rank two Godzilla gets +99 HP while Mechagodzilla gets +110 HP and Mothra gets +121 HP from +110 HP the previous rank.

In terms of leveling up, this is done by acquiring rank points. This is done by leveling up a unit using battle pieces, worth 1 rank point, or acquiring a new unit, worth 10 rank points. Below are the player rank requirements.

Version History

Godzilla Battle Line entered a "geo-specific roll out" on April 27th, 2021. This saw the game released only in Canada and Australia, with a worldwide release to follow in May. However, on May 10th, 2021, it was announced that worldwide release was postponed until June. The game was then finally released worldwide on June 15th, although technically was available for download on June 14th. Below are the versions of the game, starting with version 1.1.0 which kicked off the worldwide release.
