History

From the 1996 CD-Rom video game Godzilla Movie Studio Tour, the only mention of Gigamoth is in the end credits of the Japanese version of the game. It is listed with Bagan as appearing in the Publicity Dep., and both monsters have their designer Minoru Yoshida credited. It appears that at one point, Gigamoth was slated to be showcased in the game alongside Bagan, but was later replaced by Dogolas, whom the developers neglected to swap names with in the game credits.

No mention of Gigamoth exists in the English version of the game's credits.

Trivia
  • Other than text, no files or images of Gigamoth exist in the game. The profile image is a rendered piece of concept artwork used as Toho Kingdom's interpretation for the monster.
  • Was considered for a movie role in Godzilla vs. Gigamoth (1992).
  • It is possible a design of Gigamoth could have been reworked into Dogolas, as the former has had a number of radically different concept designs, including appearing as a thin dragonfly, a shelled caterpillar, and a large horned bird.
