Produced by Legendary Television, Tractor Pants Productions and Powerhouse Animation, who also manages the animation. The animated show is set in the 1990's and focuses on events taking place on Skull Island, as seen in Kong: Skull Island (2017).
Skull Island was developed and written by Brian Duffield, with directing duties shifting from episode to episode. In addition, Duffield was an overall showrunner for the program alongside Jacob Robinson who is also an executive producer.
Through a distribution agreement, the series is exclusive to Netflix and has yet to air outside of the streaming service. It debuted on June 22, 2023, with the entire season of eight episodes available. |
