The only other 6 inch figure in the Jakks Pacific “Godzilla King of the Monsters” line comes in the form of Rodan and is the first American made Rodan figure in approximately 25 years!
Details
Rodan's design is pretty cool. I like all the ridges that look like a mix of a sort of style of “feathers” while keeping the lava motif. It feels great to the touch and adds to the uniqueness of the the figure.
Articulation
For articulation, Rodan’s head can swivel 360 degrees. Although it would be nice if there was a ball joint so he could look up as well. The feet can move up until about the midsection. The wings can move inward and when they move inward there's a little bit of a pop sound as they move in. They can also move all the way back to create a sort of wing in almost flapping mode. You have to adjust him a little bit to make him stand but it’s not too difficult.
Accessories
For the accessories, comes with the Osprey and destructible building. The building is a sort of light brown color and breaks apart into three pieces. It's pretty cool to have and the intended audience will love it. The Osprey is a simple helicopter vehicle. No frills but it does the job.
Paint
For paint, there's not a whole lot because it's just black paint over the red mold, at least for the body. In a way it's minimal but it works. This is a bigger figure so there's a lot more black paint spread out everywhere. It really adds a lot of detail and looks really nice. Rodan’s eyes are a simple yellow/black combo but wow do they work great here. Depending on the angle, he can look real creepy. I love it.
Overall
I like this 6 inch Rodan figure. It's cool that it comes with a destructible building and a little vehicle so kids can play with and make Rodan and King Ghidorah fight with their respective playsets and at least add another building set for them to break and smash into.
