Hiya Toy’s Stylist line continues with Godzilla Evolved from Godzilla X Kong The New Empire. How is it? Read below!
Details
Godzilla is a posed in a “Bring it on!” stance and it looks pretty cool when looking dead on. From the side, it looks like he’s roaring towards the sky defiantly which also looks great. The backplates are very sharp to the touch but are soft enough to bend at the sides. Godzilla also has a good amount of heft to him and it really feels like he’s got some weight when picking him up.
Articulation
It’s a statue, so, no articulation.
Accessories
Godzilla doesn’t come with any accessories.
Paint
The paint is largely a white-ish wash over the mold. It really helps add detail to the figure. What’s puzzling is that the bottom of the feet is painted with a greenish brown color. I don’t know what purpose that serves as the figure isn’t articulated and you’ll never see it. The backplates have a nice light pink to whitish pink fade going on with the thickest part of the pink being in the middle. While it’s part of the design, the base of the backplate mold paint isn’t applied the best in spots and it looks a little sloppy. The pink paint on the scales on the sides of the mouth going down to the sides of the neck (the right side the paint almost looks smeared) is a little spotty and the paint inside the mouth has a bit of a gloss to the dirty pink paint application with a bit of a reddish pink with a blob of black paint on each side of the mouth membrane. It looks ok. The claws aren’t done very well with just bits of paint on them and the eyes, while lopsided, aren’t something you’re going to notice closeup.
Overall
It’s nice to see Hiya Toys breaking out into a different line and Evolved Godzilla is a great start to the line. The paint issues notwithstanding, it’s a great piece to have - especially at the $50 price point.
