Released by Bandai in August of 2013, this is the Gigan figure that is part of a series of six toys called the "Chibi Figures" line. This toy can be purchased separately, in two packs with another toy or they can all be purchased together as part of the Godzilla Chibi Figures 6-Pack.
Gigan is modeled after his 1972 appearance from Godzilla vs. Gigan and it's quite a cool looking figure. The colors on him really pop with a mix of gold, silver, red and light blue. His tongue however is silver which isn't "film accurate" but on the other hand, it would just look weird to have a red tongue in there. The red color on his visor just really compliments the figure. It's colorful, yet sinister looking at the same time. I do like the detail on Gigan. The scales are nicely presented and there are even unpainted scales underneath the tail. His back fins look especially nice with the "webbing" being detailed as well. There are little blemishes such as a silver paint smudge on the back of Gigan's arm but seeing as how this is a mass produced figure, it's easily forgivable.
Like some of the other figures, there's no articulation to speak of. As I stated in the Chibi Godzilla '04 review, the Gigan shown on the back of the box is the pre-production model which has his arms raised in a "attack" position. Personally, I would have liked that position better but perhaps it was changed due to packaging or approval.
Overall, this figure is pretty nice and it's a cool take on the Showa series Gigan. I'd love to see Bandai Creation's take on Gigan from Godzilla: Final Wars (2004).
