Best known for her role as Naoko Yamada in the Trick TV series and movie, Yukie Nakama
is one of many female "idols" in Japan
who juggle three jobs: actress, model and singer.
Unlike other such actresses, though, Nakama actually
made her debut on the big screen in the late 1990's
before moving onto roles in TV shows. Her stardom really kicked into high gear, though, when she appeared in Ring 0 (2000) giving the backstory of the Sadako character.
Nakama's career then launched both on the small and big screen. In fact, the two would sometimes intersect, as she reprised popular TV roles in the films Trick (2002) and There's Always Tomorrow: The Movie (2002).
As a bit of trivia, shampoo company Unilever Japan, in 2005, ran a nationwide questionnaire. Yukie Nakama won the survey for best hair in the country. |
