Best known for her
role as one of the Cosmos in the Heisei Godzilla
series, Sayaka Osawa first rose to fame in 1991
when she won Toho's "Cinderella" contest.
This prompted the firm to cast her in their New
Year's film Godzilla
vs. Mothra (1992), which would be her
first role. She followed up her performance in
the hit movie by doing a cameo in the movie's
sequel, Godzilla
vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993), while also
landing a role in NTV's the "Naked Criminal"
that same year. Osawa ended up starring in the
last two Heisei Godzilla series films, while also
appearing in Kon Ichikawa's The
8-Tomb Village (1996). Unfortunately,
this marked the end of her theatrical career at
Toho, although Osawa is still presently very active,
taking on Television roles on a annual basis while
also appearing in numerous stage plays.
