The Grudge 2, Noriko Sakai began her career
in the music industry and launched her debut single
at the young age of 16 in 1987. The single was
a modest hit, selling 40,000 copies, as Sakai
remained a prolific singer through out the rest
of the 1980's. However, she quickly turned to
the "idol circuit" in Japan, taking
on a job as both a model and the role of an actress
in TV shows. It wasn't until the late 1990's,
though, that Sakai entered the theatrical arena.
Since then, Sakai has only appeared in a hand
full of films, only one of which, Premonition
(2004), has been produced by Toho.
