Biography

Michiru Oshima started her music career in animation in 1986, at age 25, on the televised feature Saint Elmo: Apostle of Light. It wasn't until nearly six year later, however, that Oshima finally broke into the industry successfully with assignments coming more regularly, doing television programs before composing for films in the mid-1990's. In total, the composer has worked in various fields including doing soundtracks for Super Nintendo and Playstation 2 games while also arranging promotional music, such as for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. However, Oshima gained fame from being the first female composer attached to the long running Godzilla series, and did the soundtracks for all three of Masaki Tezuka's Godzilla films.
