Best remembered
by audiences abroad for her role of Chiaki
Moriyuma in Godzilla
vs. King Ghidorah (1991), Kiwako
Harada was born in 1965. At around the age
of 20, both she and her younger sister, Tomoyo
Harada, entered the entertainment business.
Where as her sister became more of a face
on the musical scene, though, Kiwako Harada
found better success in acting roles.
The two both fell into the "idol" category,
being models, actors, and singers, but each
focused on different areas to different
degrees. Kiwako Harada really hit her acting
career running too, landing a roll in the
Italian production Days of Hell in
1986 along with acting in three Japanese
productions that same year.
Despite differences
in focus, the two sisters would often cross
paths in the entertainment world, with one
of the most obvious examples being when the
two starred alongside each other in the 1987
movie Take
Me Out to the Snowland. For Kiwako
Harada, though, her boom would happen in
the late 1980's and early 1990's, before
she vanished from film, relegated to TV roles
for almost a decade before resurfacing in
a few theatrical productions by other studios. |
