Best known for his
role of Jiro Ueda in the Trick series,
Hiroshi Abe started his career as a model while
still attending Chuo University in the mid 1980's.
Even though it was his natural good looks that
got him his first job, it was Abe's impecipal
sense of humor that allowed him to make the transition
to an actor as he appeared frequently on the long
running TV series Waratte Iitomo. He
followed this up by lending his voice to several
animated features while still finishing college.
After graduating, Abe starred in a couple of direct-to-video
movies before appearing in Toei's 1993 movie Kin
Jiro's Professional Golf Department. Abe
went on to star in appear in numerous other motion
pictures, include Toho's Yamato
Takeru (1994), up until 2000 when he
landed the leading role of Jiro Ueda in the first
season of Trick. Since acting on the
program, Abe has been in constant demand, staring
in countless shows and movies, while he continued
playing the role of Ueda up until 2003 and then
reprised the role for the 2006 movie Trick
2.
