One of the most
renowned animators in the world, Miyazaki has
frequently produced some of the highest-grossing
films in the history of Japanese cinema. His
most successful film to date, Spirited
Away (2001), became the first non-English-speaking
animated film to win the Academy Award for Best
Animated Feature and his work has been a consistent draw at the Japanese box office, breaking many records. While he began his illustrious
career at Toei Animation, the majority of the
films he would make in later years would be produced
through Studio Ghibli and released by Toho. |
