The SoundWorks Collection has released a new volume focused on Godzilla (2014). It explores the sound design of the film and also interviews the crew behind it.

The 45 minute video covers first the creation of many of the sound effects used in the film. This includes both the roar of Godzilla, which was seen on the Blu-Ray release in the extras, and also the MUTO. Many other elements such as ambiance, sound effects (crowds screaming, military vehicles) are also covered.

After four minutes the video dives into an interview with Supervising Sound Editors Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn of E² SOUND. They are interviewed by the SoundWorks Collection' Michael Coleman. During the interview, footage from the movie is shown along with brief behind the scenes footage as well. Also included are black and white production stills from many Toho films. These stills are from the following films: Godzilla (1954), Godzilla Raids Again (1955), King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964), Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965), Frankenstein vs. Baragon (1965), Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966), Son of Godzilla (1967) [color still], Destroy All Monsters (1968), Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971), Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972), Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) and The Return of Godzilla (1984). It also shows the recovered suit from Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989), which is an odd choice as it's fairly damaged in the included photo.
