Tomobiki High is eagerly awaiting their annual festival that starts tomorrow. The student body is franticly absorbed in preparing for the day. This includes students dressed up for the occasion, largely as pop culture icons from Megalon to Darth Vader. The work from the students and faculty are not without mishaps. However, as everyone awakes to enjoy the fair, it's actually still the day before, as they all continue to work on preparation. Slowly, some teachers and students begin to realize their dejavu is real. They begin to realize that something is very, very wrong at Tomobiki High...

Background and Trivia

• Toho registered the film with the US copyright office on April 8th, 1992. The submission was registrastion number PA0000575307. The movie was registered with a variant of its international title, Urusei Yatsura No. 2: Beautiful Dreamer, and an alternate title of Lam the Invader Girl No. 2. The latter is close to the character's name, Lum, and also the Italian and French spelling, Lamu. However, it is neither and is a unique spelling for the main character's name.
• The movie features a wealth of references to Toho's science fiction properties. This includes scenes of students dressed as Minilla, Godzilla and Megalon. There are also props seen of Moguera, the Mothra Larva and the Gotengo fighting Manda. The students are also seen at a theater during the movie watching Godzilla (1954). When asked about this, director Mamoru Oshii said they were given permission by Toho to "go nuts" with the camoes.
