Toru Kojima and Koji Ohara are two bachelors in modern-day Tokyo seeking relationships with older women. Toru has been secretly seeing Shifumi for three years, and Koji starts an affair with Kimiko. Both women are unhappily married. Their relationships carry on into the new year, by which point Toru is falling deeply in love with Shifumi, and Koji is starting to regret his association with Kimiko.
