A deceased man's body is found, beaten and burned beyond recognition. Local detective Kaoru Utsumi and her former colleague Shunpei Kusanagi are assigned to uncover the mystery behind the victim's identity. As the case heats up, physicist and university professor Manabu Yukawa - also known as the brilliant weirdo "Galileo" - starts an investigation of his own when his old school friend, the equally brilliant mathematician Tetsuya Ishigami, becomes involved in the case as a suspect. Now Yukawa must contend with a man not only driven forward by an ingenious mind, but also by a steadfast heart.
