Background and Trivia

  • The movie does not appear to be registered with the US copyright office. However, the production does appear to have an English international title, which was listed in English as "The Phoenix" in the book Distributed by Toho Special Effects Movies 1954-1999 (ISBN: T1065429631982).
  • Based on the "Dawn" story line from Osamu Tezuka's "Firebird" (火の鳥 - Hinotori). This particular story line, the first story in Tezuk'a "Firebird" work, began publication in 1954 and concluded in 1955.
