Background and Trivia |
- In Japan, the education system is divided into junior high schools (中学校 ~ Chugakko), which cover grades seven through nine, and senior high schools (高等学校 ~ Kotogakko) that covers grades ten through twelve and is often abbreviated as 高校 (Koko). The film's title uses a bit of slang, referring to the main trio as being in "High 2" (高2 ~ Ko 2), meaning their second year of senior high school. A more literal translation of the title would therefore be "High 2 Blossoming Trio: A Time of First Love." However, the version used at the top of this listing drops the slang in favor of a phrasing that, while less authentic to the Japanese title, reads more smoothly in English.

Although these two features were the main focus, the campaign also noted their respective double bills: The Blossoming High School Sophomore Trio: A Time of First Love (1975) screened alongside Blue Mountains (1975), while this film was paired with Greatest Game Ever (1975).
