In a dystopian future, most of the human race has been decimated by enormous flesh-eating humanoid giants called titans. A remnant of the human race has managed to build huge walls to escape the titan menace, and they have enjoyed 100 years of peace. Suddenly one day an enormous titan appears and smashes through the wall, and titans invade part of the city. A young man named Eren joins the army to fight the titans, and is joined by some of his friends. The army has developed vertical maneuvering equipment, which allow soldiers to more effectively fight the titans, which are nearly invincible. As the military attempts to retake the section of the city controlled by the titans, they sustain massive loss. What is the secret of the titans? Can they be defeated? Can humanity survive?
