Description

Believed to have originated in the Florida Everglades, Skeetera eventually made her way to Miami in search of a more populated feeding ground. Battling Godzilla, the monstrous mosquito was able to feed on Godzilla's blood, gaining the ability to spew atomic fireballs. Despite this development, Godzilla was able to defeat Skeetera by dehydrating her with his atomic ray. Skeetera was quickly moved to Monster Island by the military, but before she could be safely contained on the island, a terrorist group known as S.C.A.L.E. attacked and took over the island, freeing all the mutations on it.

Almost immediately, Skeetera engaged in a battle royal with C-Rex, King Cobra and the Giant Bat. Skeetera proved to be a powerful foe, absorbing their special abilities and even combining them. Though Monique managed to seal C-Rex and King Cobra in one of the containment fields, the Giant Bat still remained free and was soundly defeated by Skeetera following an intense dogfight.

Godzilla soon arrived on the island, subduing the Giant Bat and attacking Skeetera. Growing even larger by feeding on the mutations, she proved to be more of a challenge for Godzilla this time. But despite her prowess, victory was not on Skeetera's menu. Striking her with his tail, Godzilla sent Skeetera spiraling into an electrical generator, slaying the blood-sucking insect in the world’s biggest bug zapper.

Powers / Weapons
Flight

Flight

Being a giant mosquito, Skeetera can fly through the air at high speeds and often uses this to try and get behind a victim for easy feeding.

Fireballs

Fireballs

From her proboscis, the mutant mosquito can launch highly explosive balls of fire.

Power combine

Power combine

After feeding on prey’s blood, should the victim have energy-based attacks, it can combine that energy with her own fireballs. In the case of Godzilla, it gave her fireballs the green, fiery appearance of Godzilla’s atomic ray.

Blood drain

Blood drain

Once landing on top of a victim, Skeetera can rapidly feed on their blood via her proboscis. Once she does this, not only can she rapidly grow in size but also absorb their energy to add to her own.

Weaknesses
High temperatures

High temperatures

Should Skeetera be hit by concentrated heat attacks, such as Godzilla’s atomic ray, it will cause her absorbed blood to evaporate and return her to her normal size and self, removing her absorbed abilities. Additionally, the more she uses her absorbed powers, the faster the mosquito will become dehydrated and lose them.
