Description

Developed by the brilliant Dr. Ifukube, the Albino Yeti was to be Japan’s greatest defense against the looming threat of mutations that were appearing across the globe. When H.E.A.T. arrived to investigate several missing hikers, the self-defense forces believed Godzilla to be the culprit. The Albino Yeti was assigned the mission to stop the reptile and bring the team into custody. While attacking their camp and destroying their equipment, the ape was attacked relentlessly by Godzilla. Things quickly didn’t add up, however. The yeti began to use Judo-like maneuvers on the King of the Monsters. Despite this, Godzilla was able to unleash his atomic fire. The green inferno burned through the yeti’s inorganic hair and skin, revealing a monstrous machine underneath.

Background and Trivia
  • In Godzilla 1954-1999 Super Complete Works (ISBN 4091014704), its Japanese name is listed as "Giant Albino Yeti" (巨大アルビノ・イエティ - Kyodai Arubino Ieti).
  • Was to appear in the cancelled Trendmasters Godzilla: The Series toy line. Prototypes of the figure were still produced, which can be seen in several pictures provided by Jonathan Shyman.
  • The scene in which the yeti plays with Godzilla’s jaws could be a reference to the 1933 King Kong, wherein the legendary ape does the same with a defeated T-Rex.

Description

As the battle between Godzilla and the ape raged on, the nuclear reptile bathed the yeti in his atomic fire. The result was an image straight out of a nightmare. The fur and flesh began to burn away, revealing a colossus of cold steel underneath. With all of its weapons at its disposal, the Robo-Yeti was able to overpower Godzilla. Missiles and taser whips brought the monster king to the brink, but as the H.E.A.T. team pleaded with Dr. Ifukube to end her assault and begin a hunt for the true culprit, the monstrous King Cobra made its presence known. It attacked the trailer, causing Monique to briefly gain control of the machine and summon it.

The robot tried grappling with the serpent, but King Cobra’s tremendous size and strength was too much. It ensnared the robot and nearly crushed it before being driven off by Godzilla. Robo-Yeti was damaged, but not beyond repair. After a few hours of labor, it was back in action and equipped with a chemical agent, developed by Elsie Chapman, to counter the snake’s sticky glue.

While Godzilla battled King Cobra in Tokyo, Robo-Yeti was dispatched to aid the atomic lizard. While it managed to free numerous citizens from its glue, the machine was still no match for the snake. Once more it was constricted, only this time there was no escape. Its entire body was crushed and head popped off, leaving Godzilla alone to deal with this extremely deadly threat.

Missiles

Located within its chest cavity, the Robo-Yeti is armed with numerous missiles that it can use to attack its targets. In order to fire these, the chest region has to open up and be exposed.

Taser whips

Taser whips

From each of its hands, the mechanical ape can launch whip-like harpoons. Once wrapped around a target, these whips can be charged with a massive amount of electricity to deliver an extremely painful electrical shock.

Finger spray

Finger spray

The Robo-Yeti can be equipped with various chemicals in its hands that can then be sprayed from the finger tips. These were only used once, however, as a means to deliver an agent capable of breaking down King Cobra’s glue and freeing its victims.
