Accidentally released from an ancient temple by ornithologist Laurence Cohen, the legendary Quetzalcoatl began to attack everything in sight. Upon hearing about the events on the news, and a phone call from Dr. Cohen himself, the H.E.A.T. team arrived to help and investigate his claims of finding the monster. He hoped to use the existence of such a creature as evidence of his theory that birds were the direct relatives of prehistoric dinosaurs. However, the winged monster was extremely powerful. After a failed attempt at tranquilizing it, the tactics were changed to instead put a permanent end to the mythic beast.
When Quetzalcoatl attacked again, the poison round wasn’t able to be fired in time and Elsie was picked up in Quetzalcoatl’s huge talons. Quickly coming to the conclusion the flying reptile aimed to use her as food for the next generation once they hatched, the group knew time was of the essence. They quickly arrived to rescue Elsie, but the hatchlings were already giving chase.
Quetzalcoatl flew in to drive off the intruders, but Godzilla finally made his appearance known and attacked the legendary monster. The giants waged war while Elsie escaped the younglings with the help of Dr. Cohen. Unable to defeat the nuclear reptile, Quetzalcoatl returned to her brood in an attempt to get them to safety. Godzilla opened fire with his atomic breath, blasting the rock and the mouth of the volcanic mountain. A rockslide followed, with a huge boulder striking the airborne Quetzalcoatl as she carried her offspring. Knocked off balance, the monster fell into the sizzling lava bellow, never to be seen again. |
