As a strike of New York City’s garbage workers went on for days, mountains of trash began to pile up in the streets. Something had to be done and be done swiftly. The answer seemed obvious: utilize a highly secret colony of petroleum-eating microbes to devour the massive amounts of garbage. Despite warnings from its creator, the colony was unleashed on a garbage boat. Everything seemed to be going as planned and the colony rapidly absorbed the trash and increased in size. Soon, however, things took a turn for the worst. The creature began to attack the nearby ships. All attempts at remotely shutting it down failed.
Hearing about the events unfolding on the news, the H.E.A.T. Team quickly arrived to lend a hand. They tried shutting it down via EMPs, but the attacks failed to harm the thing. The man-made monstrosity took chase, but they managed to acquire a small piece of one of its tentacles during another EMP attack.
Sensing a nearby oil tanker, the monster leaped over the Heat Seeker and attacked the ship. Unfortunately for it, the King of the Monsters had also arrived to help. Appearing before the entire world’s watching eyes for the first time, Godzilla drew battle against the bizarre thing. It didn’t take long for the fight to reach land and threaten a massive refinery. Gorging on the petroleum, the Nanotech Creature grew like a nightmarish tree and loomed over everything. Not even Godzilla could stop it. However, Nick and the rest of the H.E.A.T. Team found its weakness thanks to the small sample they acquired. Infusing the sample with a computer virus, Nick dropped the sample back into the main mass. The virus spread across its colossal form, turning the gooey form into fragile dust. The dangerous thing began to crumble and the volatile attempt at controlling waste would never be repeated. |
