Description

A monstrous sea anemone was discovered and captured in the Pacific Ocean by Tobias Wilson. The mutant monster master quickly put her on display in his mutant circus and began to tour the country. After he foolishly put a hit on Godzilla in an attempt to get the reptile into his show, he gained the attention of H.E.A.T. While they visited the circus, Medusa was given her grand display in front of thousands. However, she mysteriously vanished in her tank and a strange fluid began to flow from the gaps. Medusa had turned itself into a liquid state and escaped. It reformed outside the tank and lashed out, grabbing victims with its tentacles and draining them dry.

Helpless, the H.E.A.T. team watched on as it broke out into the streets. Godzilla, gun shy after the day’s earlier events, refused to come when summoned, leaving H.E.A.T. and Major Hicks alone to try and battle Medusa. It was realized the beast was heading directly for New York City’s water reservoir. They tried protecting the reservoir by electrifying the fence around it, but the plan only worked for a second before Medusa turned into a liquid state to get around it. Once within, the anemone began to gorge itself on the water and grew even larger.

However, the familiar roar of Godzilla rang loud. Finally arriving on the scene, the King of the Monsters tackled Medusa and held it down. Unable to escape physically, the mutation again turned into a liquid state and covered Godzilla head to toe. It rapidly dehydrated the atomic reptile and nearly killed him if not for the beast unleashing his atomic ray, forcibly removing the anemone. While Medusa headed back on land, Godzilla was left behind to recover and re-hydrate.

As it traveled through the streets, the military forces unleashed high-temperature heat rays onto the mutation. It was again turned into its liquid state, but before it could be collected as planned, it escaped into the subway system and made a direct line for the sea. No sooner than it touched the water, Godzilla attacked again. He lashed out, biting off one of its lashing tentacles and unleashing his atomic fire. Medusa was again forcibly turned into a liquid state, only this time Godzilla didn’t allow it to reform. He continuously hit it with his nuclear breath, coating it in fire. When the Heat Seeker arrived, Nick yelled for his monstrous ally to stop his assault and an oil skimmer towed by the ship began to suck up the liquid monster. Finally, Medusa was contained again.

When it was loaded onto a truck, Tobias Wilson tried stealing it back for his circus. Unfortunately for him, the army stopped him in his tracks and took the tycoon into custody. Whatever happened to the deadly sea anemone following this remains a mystery.

Powers / Weapons
Tentacles

Tentacles

Medusa is armed with numerous tentacles that it can use to stretch out and ensnare its victims, allowing the creature to rapidly drain them of water.

Water absorption

Water absorption

By merely touching water, Medusa’s body acts as a sponge and soaks it up in order to grow larger. Additionally, if she even touches a living organism such as a human or Godzilla, she will rapidly drain them of water, leaving the victim alive but in a severely dehydrated state.

Body temperature control

Body temperature control

The mutant sea anemone is capable of controlling its own body temperature. By becoming hotter, it can melt itself into a liquid state. In this form, it can escape containers and traps extremely easy. Even in its liquid state, the creature can control its temperature and by becoming cooler, return to its normal state.

Weaknesses
External heating sources

External heating sources

Medusa’s melting ability can be triggered by outside temperatures as well as inside, meaning heat-based attacks can trigger it to become a liquid state and remain in this state until allowed to cool.
