A mutation not unlike that of Godzilla, Komodithrax existed in secrecy on a remote island in the Arctic. Thriving in the warmth of a hidden paradise fed by the warmth of volcanic activity, she was queen of the land. After washing ashore following an attack by the predatory Giant Turtle, Nick and Audrey were rescued by her. She attacked the turtle, burying it under an avalanche and allowing them access in her tropical domain. At the same time, thousands of miles away, Godzilla could sense her. He departed from New York City’s coastline and headed directly for her.
Once arriving with the rest of the H.E.A.T. team following him, the group were forced out of the area by Godzilla. The two reptiles wished to be alone. While Godzilla was unable to reproduce, Komodithrax could, and he would be the surrogate father to her offspring. Unfortunately, the nearby military presence desired to rid the waters of all mutant activity, including Godzilla.
When they made their views clear, H.E.A.T. managed to lure Godzilla away from the oncoming war. However, Komodithrax was still in the line of fire. To make matters worse for her, as the helicopters moved in, the Giant Turtle appeared in her tropical home. A colossal, three-way war broke out in the jungle. Unable to overpower the turtle and withstand the missile barrages, Komodithrax was seemingly killed and her egg stolen by the turtle. When Godzilla arrived and found her unmoving, he was enraged. He hunted down the turtle, believing it to be the cause of her death.
With everyone leaving her behind, Komodithrax eventually regained consciousness. Realizing her egg was gone, she headed out of her kingdom and found Godzilla and the turtle locked in combat. As the armored reptile nearly defeated her mate, she rushed in and pushed the turtle into an ice crevice. Unable to hold on for long, it lashed out with its snapping jaws and caught her leg. As it fell, so did Komodithrax and her egg. All three fell thousands of meters down, vanishing into the darkness of the ice, never to be seen nor heard from again. |
