Upon successfully stealing Professor Tanzawa's "PS73" - a new type of energy with immense destructive power - the Garoga call upon the mighty Gandarguirus, who rises from the depths of Mount Yakushi. The monster proceeds to inhale the PS73 container, which poses two problems in the long run for the Zone Family: the first being, if Gandarguirus is hit by any powerful physical attacks, the PS73 will explode, causing immeasurable damage to the surrounding area; and secondly, if the incoming space threat Comet K continues its course towards Earth, the comet's strong magnetic field may also cause PS73 to become unstable and detonate.
Because of these handicaps, Zone Fighter is effortlessly knocked around by Gandarguirus, as he is unable to fight back for fear of causing PS73 to explode. However, he quickly comes up with a way of stopping the beast through an unconventional method: Janken! And if Gandarguirus loses, the monster will have to return to outer space and never return. While at first reluctant, Gandarguirus agrees to the terms, and the two face off in the ultimate battle of rock-paper-scissors, with Zone Fighter emerging victorious. However, the raging Gandarguirus refuses to leave Earth, forcing Zone Fighter to engage the monster in a round of fencing, using the trunks of trees in place of swords. Once again, the silver hero is the victor, and yet again Gandarguirus refuses to leave despite having lost twice, and goes on the offensive with its flamethrower. The fleet-footed Zone Fighter manages to avoid the fire, but with his energy dangerously low, he is unable to fight Gandarguirus any longer. Content, the Garoga recall their Terror-Beast for the time being.
Some hours later, the Garoga attempt to steal another container of PS73, but are thwarted by the Zone Family. Soon after, Gandarguirus arrives to try and take back the second batch of PS73. Fortunately, the newly-restored Zone Fighter manages to attract the attention of the beast and lead it away, avoiding more sprays of the monster's flamethrower. However, the hero is still unable to retaliate due to the first batch of PS73 still inside the body of Gandarguirus. As a result, Zone Fighter once again challenges the Terror-Beast to a new game: a match of ring toss.
As the two giants play their game, Comet K flies closer and closer to Earth. With time not on his side, Zone Fighter springs into action: with Gandarguirus distracted by the game, the silver hero leaps behind the monster and, as the monster turns to face him, lands a precise strike on Gandarguirus's face, causing its eyes to pop out! Zone Fighter swiftly grabs the extended eyestalks and yanks them out of their sockets, blinding the surprised monster. Though unable to see, Gandarguirus is still able to somewhat track Zone Fighter through sound. Zone Fighter uses this to his advantage as he claps his hands rhythmically, causing the blind beast to turn and walk towards him. With the monster successfully lured, Zone Fighter quietly leaps behind Gandarguirus and uses his Meteor Zone Slice to cut both of the monster's arms off, and with a well-aimed Meteor Missile Might, decapitates Gandarguirus, killing the monster without setting off an explosion.
However, Comet K continues its course towards Earth, and is now dangerously close. Zone Fighter acts quickly as he grabs the headless body of Gandarguirus, flies out into space, and chucks it at the incoming comet. Not taking any chances, Zone Fighter proceeds to fire his Meteor Proton Beam at the floating corpse and causes the PS73 to explode, which drastically changes Comet K's trajectory away from the planet, putting an end to the crisis once and for all. |
