As two soldiers performed their routine patrol around the base, a swarm of hideous spiders emerged from the trees. They attacked one of the men, biting him numerous times. The other soldier managed to rescue him just in time, but he was in critical condition. Not knowing what else to do, H.E.A.T. was called in to investigate. They quickly found samples of the widows, but soon were swarmed as well. The group managed to escape without any injuries. Deciding to use pesticides, Major Hicks deployed a small squadron equipped with some of the world’s most powerful poisons. However, the pesticides failed to even hinder the spiders.
Back at base, the mother spider made its move but was drawn into a battle with Godzilla. When the battle between the huge spider and the King of the Monsters came to an end, the offspring followed their mother back into the jungle. Back at base, Nick made numerous discoveries with the captured arachnids. Upon closer examination of them, the world famous scientist discovered they were but mere babies. Additionally, after accidentally releasing one of the spiders, it was captured again with a vase containing some of the island’s flowers that Elsie had plucked. This flower was the key.
Another pesticide was prepared, this time using the flower as a basis. In the form of a bomb, the explosive was transported to the arachnid’s layer. The huge spider quickly made its presence known and hundreds of spiders fell from its back. The bomb was dropped before it could be activated and hundreds of spiders covered it. Despite this, Nick risked his own life to activate it. He suffered numerous bites, but his plan succeeded. Once Godzilla blasted the parent arachnid back on top of the bomb, it was remotely detonated. The pesticide spread outward, instantly paralyzed and seemingly killing each of the ravenous spiders. |
