Description

Contained in the Area 51 mutant research facility, the armadillo and Thorny Devil managed to escape outside the confines of the base after a break in their habitat opened up. To make matters worse, as the scientists and soldiers were tracking the giant armadillo down, a pair of UFO enthusiasts snuck in and took a picture of it. Believing it to be an alien, the photograph was featured in a show Dr. Elsie Chapman was a fan of. After H.E.A.T. further examined the image, they discovered that what was shown was actually the face of a mutation.

After being turned away at the base’s doors, the team snuck in and quickly found themselves in the middle of the hunt for the Mutant Armadillo. When the soldiers were unable to contain it, H.E.A.T. was allowed to do their thing. While Monique distracted it, a bomb was placed under the ground, near a large bush. When it went off, the vine-like roots were exposed. Trying to prove himself, Randy then got its attention and lured it into the massive root system. Mere inches away from him, the monster began ensnared and trapped. Unable to move, the mutation was acquired and returned to its habitat. Unfortunately, one more monstrous thing still roamed freely near the walls of Area 51.

Powers / Weapons
Scutes

Scutes

Just like the smaller variety, the gigantic armadillo is protected by thick armor plating. When threatened, it can roll itself into a ball in order to prevent its softer flesh from being harmed.

Extraordinary jumper

Extraordinary jumper

Despite its large and bulky body, the Mutant Armadillo is capable of leaping great distances.

Spiked tail

Spiked tail

Should opponents try to attack from behind, the mutation can slam its spiked tail on the ground with so much force that it will generate a slight tremor, able to knock nearby humans off of their feet.

Burrowing

Burrowing

Like some species of armadillo, the mutant variety is capable of burrowing under the ground. It uses this ability to ambush its targets.
