Created by a brilliant but deranged scientist, the DNA Mimic was thought to be lost for the ages after the man went missing. However, a lone treasure hunter stumbled upon the abandoned lab and accidentally set loose the DNA Mimic on an unexpecting world. Philippe Roaché, aware of the unfolding situation, contacted H.E.A.T. and dispatched them on a mission to destroy the man-made monster. It didn’t take long for the creature to start playing its games with the team, gaining samples of their DNA one by one. When it realized it could use them to locate the second DNA Mimic, it caused trust issues to explode among the group.
Tensions continued to rise until a way to determine who was real and who was an imitation was discovered. The shapeshifter had an unnatural high body temperature compared to humans. After determining everyone in the room was human, Nick forced Elsie to administer the test to herself. She was revealed to be the DNA Mimic and escaped, but it had gained the information it desired.
Transforming into Craven, it used his robot, N.I.G.E.L., to break open a container at the bottom of the river. The others were too late and it escaped via turning into a crocodile. It dove into the water and merged with the second blob, becoming super-sized. Just in time, Godzilla arrived as the DNA Mimic became a colossal piranha. It changed appearances several times when battling the King of the Monsters, becoming a snake and bee before becoming an exact replica of Godzilla himself. Onboard the Heat Seeker, Nick readied a special chemical weapon that would break the DNA Mimic down on a molecular level. However, if he fired at the wrong Godzilla, it would surely kill him as well. Trusting his instincts, he fired on one of the reptiles and, thankfully, hit the DNA Mimic. Its vast storage of DNA began to go haywire and it lost its ability to become perfect clones. It became a giant, two-headed Elsie and moved closer to the ship. However, Godzilla attacked and pushed it away. He then unleashed his atomic ray, burning the DNA Mimic to ash with his green blaze. |
