Released from prison after his previous stunt with the Cyber Fly swarm, Cameron Winter was up to his tricks once again. Looking to turn a profit as the world suffered mutation attack after mutation attack, he devised a new plan to get rich and get revenge on Godzilla and the H.E.A.T. team. Utilizing Godzilla’s very DNA and a host of other animals, he created the first anti-mutation mutation. Next, he drugged Godzilla and began to have his creation rampage through New York City during dark and foggy nights, making the public believe Godzilla was to blame.
While even the governments of the world were fooled, Nick remained determined that his monster wasn’t at fault. When Major Hicks and the army took chase, the truth quickly came to light. What they were dealing with was a bizarre, chameleon-like thing that could become nearly invisible to the naked eye. Recognizing its movements and the device implanted on its head, Nick instantly knew the real culprit was once again Cameron Winter.
The monster shrugged off the army’s weapons and headed back to the sea while Nick located a phony control trailer. Soon, the real Godzilla emerged from the depths in a groggy manner. The nuclear leviathan was quick to hone in on his doppelganger and a battle between the reptiles raged. However, the King of the Monsters was too drugged to fight to his fullest capacity and the man-made horror had extremely thick skin to protect it from the powers of the world’s mutants. It seemed Godzilla was at the thing’s mercy until Philippe Roaché fired a chemical warhead at it. The biological agent attacked the Chameleon’s cells, quickly turning its flesh into a dust-like state. The thing began to crumble into a heap, clearing Godzilla of any wrong doing. Unfortunately, Cameron Winter escaped custody. It was now only a matter of time until he returned with another crazy scheme to bring an end to Godzilla and get rich in the process. |
