Most likely spawned by waste from a chemical plant, Bacillus was a monstrously huge bacterium that gained a sort of sentience. H.E.A.T. was quickly on the move and located it. Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, was instantly drawn into battle against the thing. The mutation lashed out with tentacles and snot balls, but it wasn’t until it used its hidden tentacle to slice Godzilla open did things take a darker turn. In the chaos, Craven was covered by its green fluid and while Godzilla seemingly blasted the monster with his atomic ray, he had been directly infected by its viral cocktail.
Both Craven and Godzilla were soon out of commission, with Godzilla suffering the most. While Elsie synthesized an anti-virus, Nick and Monique ventured inside Godzilla to deal with the infection directly. At the same time, the Bacillus made its return. It had survived the previous battle by generating an endospore. It attacked the Heat Seeker, threatening to sink the research ship until Nick and Monique successfully destroyed the last of the virus inside Godzilla.
Freed from the infection, Godzilla returned to battle and saved the group. He prevented it from infecting him again. To help matters, the atomic monster was given a tremendous dose of Elsie’s anti-virus. The body of the mutant began to break down and Godzilla unleashed his nuclear blast. It was unable to produce another endospore and its entire body was hit, reducing the bizarre thing to ash floating on the water. |
