I think that'd be the general expectation to keep as a sort of "at the latest" mentality. But we at staff generally try to announce as soon as possible whether or not we'll be including a combatant or not. Currently preoccupied with a couple projects, but thinking there'll be something inbound this Friday. ;)

Check it! Updated the "Announced, But No Matches" thread with (spoiling for safety)

Shimo and Skar King
Information presented is not final, as we are awaiting final details of the novel--however, we came to a verdict when it comes to their inclusion and we have full plans on adding them. For those who haven't seen the movie, power list naturally contains spoilers.

Bringing this back up. I'd take these three in a heart beat if Fortnite locked in and did a Godzilla/MV collab.

...I mean, can we use Fall Guys to Fortnite links to get them in? If the Godzilla Fall Guys costume can be used in Fortnite creative is that fair game?

It'd have to be like "Godzilla to Fortnite" or "Godzilla to Fall Guys", not "Godzilla to Fall Guys to Fortnite"--that'd be too far removed for collaborations. Especially with stuff that's open-ended like the Minecraft Marketplace are off the table (we've already had a discussion on this). The collaboration in question needs to be directly tied to use it. And even then, when it comes to Fall Guys, we did agree nay to drawing anything from Fall Guys, since it's all cute costumes that represent the character/collab, but aren't the actual monsters themselves.

Now that content from Kaiju No. 8 is allowed, could someone from that series be available as a possible combatant?

(Does Kaiju No. 8 himself even qualify? I know nothing about the series aside from the basic premise.)
I just wanted to read stories about kaiju punching each other, how did I get to this point?

Most of them are too small. Kaiju No. 8 himself is human scaled.

As Nagoda said, Kafka himself is too small (he does bulk up at one point, but it’s very briefly and only under a specific circumstance that can’t happen again). And as someone who is currently caught up on the manga, I can attest that additions from it are unlikely. The noteworthy kaiju are human-scale (Kaijin No. 8 would have been a more accurate title for the story) and the ones that are actually large tend to either not have much to go off of due to being in the story posthumously or due to being nameless and not doing much.

Never say never, as the manga isn’t done yet, the anime could add stuff, and there is at least one character off the top of my head that does meet the requirements to be viable, so we’ll see as the anime progresses.

Don't we have Kamen Riders as combatants in the KWC now? Are we going to bring up height as an issue? I know Riders have been taller under crossover fun rules, so I guess a hypothetical Kaiju No. 8 X Battle Line crossover would need to happen?

Well yeah.. but they're Kamen Riders that can change their size, which definitely isn't all of them. (in fact they haven't done that at all in most modern installments)

Yes, as Gigantis says, Kamen Rider Ichigo and J can change sizes. The former thanks to the Ultraman vs. Kamen Rider crossover (and Battle Line). And yes, height is important, I know we have Kumasogami, however he is a case of being grandfathered in, we as of now would very much like to avoid characters that are barely bigger than humans. Combatants can be scaled up to be on the roster, but we want them to at least be notably large even before then (my general rule of thumb is “needs to be at least around the size of a T. Rex”, but that’s not a hardline thing).

Size shouldn't be a determining factor for Kafka's inclusion, he is shown to be absurdly powerful enough to kill and or even damage monster's much larger than himself,

Also worth noting the anime is actually giving them names, such as the big lizard thing being called Philinosoma

With that logic, we should add All Might. Kafka is simply the size of a person and only gets slightly bigger in the instance that GvR brought up, which again is very specific and he can't just do on a whim and even then he is like the size of the Hulk.

Having noticable size diffrence dynamics in fight's are more intresting honestly, Especially if both combatants are similarly powered, i think being specifically kaiju themed should allow him to be here.

No, like GvR said they have to at least be the size of a Tyrannosaurus to be buffed up a bit in size or have lore that they are growing (SP Anguirus). Kafka again, is the size of a person, average 32 year old man height too. Too small for him to be added to the roster

You just said, quite possibly, the coolest idea ever put forward in the KWC. Now I want that.

Realistically not having a Kaiju No. 8 fighter isn't a HUGE loss, I feel a Battle Line collab is plausible anyways. I just wanted to look into reasoning.

I feel like you didn't bother to actually read any of that.

(Sidenote: He isn't even the same height as is human self and is somewhat slightly taller.)

Frankly having them always the same size is kinda boring and size diffrence dynamics would be pretty intresting, i always felt power is more of a factor than size honestly,

Plus i thought it was said if someone could actually take on a kaiju powerwise and have some toho connection it was allowed now iirc.
