Now that content from Kaiju No. 8 is allowed, could someone from that series be available as a possible combatant?
(Does Kaiju No. 8 himself even qualify? I know nothing about the series aside from the basic premise.)
As Nagoda said, Kafka himself is too small (he does bulk up at one point, but it’s very briefly and only under a specific circumstance that can’t happen again). And as someone who is currently caught up on the manga, I can attest that additions from it are unlikely. The noteworthy kaiju are human-scale (Kaijin No. 8 would have been a more accurate title for the story) and the ones that are actually large tend to either not have much to go off of due to being in the story posthumously or due to being nameless and not doing much.
Never say never, as the manga isn’t done yet, the anime could add stuff, and there is at least one character off the top of my head that does meet the requirements to be viable, so we’ll see as the anime progresses.

Yup, my dad works at Legendary, the Nebulans are gonna be in the next movie and they're gonna get beat because Madison throws coffee in the leaders face.
