Re: Your fears for Godzilla : Singular Point
I really hope that these small Rodans are just juveniles and there is THE Rodan lurking around, waiting for his time to strike...
Also what's the deal with Godzilla's spikes on Titanosaurus? I hope that this Godzilla isn't yet another parasitic conqueror of every living thing like Shin (though he was stopped in time) and Earth were.

I'm thinking Rodan might play the roll of the Gyaos in Guardian of the Universe. Maybe one will grow to be THE Rodan.Eel221 wrote:I really hope that these small Rodans are just juveniles and there is THE Rodan lurking around, waiting for his time to strike...

I think there's gonna be multiple Rodans. Juveniles and sn adult.
A guy who randomly stumbled upon this place one day, invested much too much time into it, and now appears to be stuck here for all eternity..and strangely enough, i do not regret it!

That's a good way to describe both incarnations of GodzillaEel221 wrote: I hope that this Godzilla isn't yet another parasitic conqueror of every living thing like Shin (though he was stopped in time) and Earth were.

Couldn't have said it better myself, dude. Also, thank you for reminding how the Godzilla Earth trilogy unofficially qualifies as a harem anime and how much I hate that fact.Desghidorah wrote:This. Stuff like harems (to be fair, can happen in reversed gender roles but let's not kid ourselves and not notice which tends to happen) have gotten wildly popular as of late to appeal to otakus and it's a surefire way to kneecap characterization outside of a select few circumstances.Titanoterror98 wrote:I can deal with mediocre storytelling and animation but I am PRAYING they don't treat the women characters like garbage or shove in any weird fanservice stuff this time around.
Yeah, and she looks pretty interesting on her own to boot! (The little doggo by her side certainly helps, too.)LSD Jellyfish wrote: Already the poster seems to focus on a female character who isn't clearly just intended solely to appeal to lonely otakus, so there's something less to worry about.

That they'll still pull a Monster Planet and all of the monsters will be restricted to a thirty-second flashback/introduction sequence in the first episode. A 900-meter Godzilla slaughters them all off-screen and then stands still in Tokyo for the rest of the show, occasionally spamming beams if he's annoyed.

Preach men. All genres can work in the right circumstances. Harem shows can work for comedy for example, but I find them shoehorned into other genres or plots way too often. Gotta say unless given reason to worry otherwise, I'm quite happy with the female lead we seem to have here.Titanoterror98 wrote:Couldn't have said it better myself, dude. The involvement of CGI is my chief concern. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t look good in anime. How come Polar Bear Café can pull off anatomically consistent, 2D, detailed animals dominating its entire 22 minute runtime, but an anime on Toho’s dollar has to use CG? The best I can hope is that it’s limited to kaiju and other large structures. It’s not ideal even then, but at least it doesn’t look as horrendous as when it’s used to portray human beings.

I kinda like what I see in the trailers so far. If it ends up being anything like what MAPPA did for Attack on Titan's final season, I'm all for it.LockBite wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 8:47 pm The involvement of CGI is my chief concern. I feel like I still don't know enough to really get worried about anything.
If its better than the anime trilogy, I'd call that a success.
