dinosaur version of Kong

So I've been working on this guy for a few days now on an 18x24 like I mentioned previously, so he's not done yet by any means (no shading/tail isn't done, background etc), but I figured I'd reveal the design before it's consumed by the intense background.

I've been working on my rendition of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. I'm currently basing the majority of his design on Tegus (smartest large reptiles), since his entire persona reminded me of my two pet Tegus, and they both share some similar traits. Beaded, circular scales, angular chunky large heads, and somewhat thick tails (not shown here yet), the head is where the Tegu features show through the most. Specifically the triangular face, and the jowls seen on male Tegus.

From my understanding the character is considered a Gornapsid by various wikis, but I think that'd frankly look quite ridiculous, especially considering he's a straight up dinosaur through and through. I've also seen a ton of people turn him into a t rex with 4 legs, and it's like... no? That's not respecting Harryhausens work at all. At least stay faithful to his concept.

I also decided to accentuate his fangs a bit, to differentiate him from a typical giant dinosaur/lizard.

I'm making the piece based on what I would do if I had the reigns for a remake. I'm thinking something incredibly faithful but updated like Kong 2005, a time piece, with twists from the original film.

Rhedosaurus: It looks really good but the hind-legs make it seem, I'd say, dog-sized. Bulk up the calves, shorten up the toes, and it would be absolute gold.

Guiron: The head looks good but the body just looks... off. That sorta square-ish bulldog body is perfect for Guiron and I'm not sure anything else could work.

That design honestly looks great! Only issue I have with it is that the knife could use some more texture maybe a few cracks and such to show it’s been in a lot of battles

Ultraman: Cool redesign that genuinely makes him look otherworldly and alien.

Gigan: All they did was turn him into a dragon bird with eyes lol, took away all of his defining features, including his massive blade arms.

That's a...pretty unorthodox redesign I gotta say. I'll admit it has some good things going for it with certain features (especially the head) but overall it only vaguely resembles Gigan and looks more like a generic Draconic entity. Not a fan.

As far as Gigan goes, I get what they were going for, and It isn't a bad design, but even with the caveat that this has to be a functional biological life form, I don't like that they gave him proper eyes.
