Somewhere (an interview here on TK perhaps?) Playmates said the new “classics” figures or whatever they’re calling them would be all vinyl.

To be honest, there's a hater part of me that just wants to say these look terrible... But Jet Jaguar actually looks really good!! And I love that he's in a fighting pose! The older I get, the more and more I prefer my figures in a more dynamic pose. Burning Godzilla sculpt isn't bad, but I still get a bootleggy feel from it. Glad to see that they're going soft vinyl though.

Unlike Bandai Creation, this line may actually have a budget behind it!

The Jet Jaguar is a must-have...might pass on the rest of that wave, but I will get any and all Showa monsters they make moving forward.

When and where is Jet Jaguar releasing? I missed out on the previous waves and don’t want to miss these. Have they done classic Angurius and Rodan?

Also will playmates do a 2019 Rodan and Mothra?

Likely Walmart in the US and Smyths in the UK. Not certain though.
And no.
We have no idea what Playmates are doing in the future after these two figures.

Thanks! I’ll keep an eye out at Walmart.

So where did these pics surface anyway? I checked playmates site and nada. I’m very curious if this (2 figures) is the whole wave or not...?

Probably Walmart site or some trick to figure out the links to images on Playmates that just aren't publicly posted yet.

Apparently this is already out? Did we know that?

It's technically a GvK spoiler, so I put it in the spoiler code.

If they’ve been properly released and were in the trailer it’s fair game! But yeah that looks cool. Wish we got a MMS of those.

Edit: looks like Matt frank got that early, they’ll be out later.

I have that one and I must reiterate.... if you get one, be very careful with the wings, the clip for them is really fragile.

We know that they've been out in the UK for at least a few weeks. I don't think they're anywhere else.

I'm genuinely shocked that Jet Jaguar looks so good since the previous "Classic" figures sucked major ass. Not only is he the first halfway-decent figure, but he might well be a must-have! Something about the face looks a tad off to me, but I haven't seen anyone else say anything so perhaps its just me. Looks wonderful regardless, and I like that the pose makes it distinct from the Bandai vinyl! Burning Godzilla isn't too bad either, but there's been a hundred different Burning Godzilla releases over the years.

Would love to see a Megalon of this quality!

To answer a few of the above questions, Playmates has said they have no intentions of making KOTM characters. The Jakks Pacific 2019 Rodan and Ghidorah go well with Playmates figures though, pretty much the same style.

Jet Jaguar and Burning Godzilla are the only figures in this wave; the back of the packaging shows off those two plus the Godzilla 2004 and Spacegodzilla from the first wave, for some reason.

These look good. Is it better to wait for better types of figures for these characters? I don't see this guy getting MonsterArts treatment anytime soon unless the movie is absolute smash...
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy. They do not attack people because they want to, but because of their size and strength, mankind has no other choice but to defend himself. After several stories such as this, people end up having a kind of affection for the monsters. They end up caring about them." - Ishiro Honda

I'm not sure what you mean by that because these are just classic figures, they're not related to GvK or anything. And I highly doubt you'll see any high end figures of Jet Jaguar or maybe even Burning Godzilla for a looong time, if ever again.
