NEMESIS:Wages of Sin-Jeremy Robinson.

Post by The One and Only »

Nemesis.
The Queen of the Monsters.
The Goddess of Vengeance.
Is back.
Not seen since the end of Jeremy Robinson's fifth, and final entry to Robinson's "Kaiju Thriller" series, PROJECT LEGION where the kaiju was last seen living in peace in the seas of one of Jupiter's moons. Well, until August 29, 2023. Nemesis returns. According to the author himself, Nemesis will be returning, looking different this time. With collaborator, and Nemesis' designer, Kaijusamurai himself, Matt Frank, possibly returning to help redesign the Queen of Monsters for the new entry. Supposedly, the new look for Nemesis will be more Xenomorph, ALIEN, like Robinson had originally pitched to Frank. The story will be set in a parallel universe set 13 years after Nemesis had made an appearance there, and how that Earth fared since then. Subtitled Wages of Sin , the new Kaiju Thriller is almost completed according to Robinson. Can't Wait.

Honestly, very excited. Really enjoy Robinson's works so seeing a different spin on Nemesis will be interesting to read.

You can focus on it, and try to force it, but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient, and you hold still, then maybe... Just maybe... It will come to you."

Sweet! Hope Matt Frank will be back.
Hmm he mentioned thinking it'd have the original Xeno-morph like inspiration. There's a part of me that is like 'but the design already so perfect why tweak it!?' Well whichever I am eager.

I agree. Although, remembering an old interview with Matt Frank on the designing of Nemesis. In the course of bringing Nemesis to visual life, Frank had said his earlier takes on her was that Nemesis came off with a more campy, "Ultraman" kaiju look her. Sadly he tossed out these sketches of the Nemesis prototypes so what we can't see her evolution before the final design was chosen.

Makes sense they were tossed out, a campy look wouldn’t have worked for this story at all

You know when I first read that Robinson was doing another Nemesis novel, I (and certainly most others) assumed it would simply be picking up where the end of 'Project Legion' left off. But given all the creative potential that can come from it, I like the concept of it taking place in a parallel universe even better.

Synopsis for NEMESIS.
It's a whole new ballgame.
"From the ashes of a devastated Boston, a harrowing legend emerges. Thirteen years prior, the colossal kaiju, Nemesis, ravaged the city in her relentless pursuit of retribution. Today mankind's survival teeters on the sacrificial offerings atop the chilling monolith known as the Alter, where the condemned pay the ultimate price to prevent Nemesis' wrath from consuming humanity.
Agent Graham, a grizzled operative on the brink of retirement, finds himself tethered to the fiery, untested Agent Tilly. Together they are the unlikleist partners in the Nemesis Special Operations Group, the government's first line of defense against the massive Goddess of Vengeance. Thier mission ? To hunt down the enigmatic cult, Divine Retribution, before they can harness the power of Nemesis to reshape the world to their warped sense of rightousness.
As Graham and Tilly plunge into Boston's darkest underbelly, they face more than echos of their city's past. They must outwit cunning cultists, battle monsters on the windswept beaches of Martha's Vineyard, and forge an unexpected alliance with the motley and formidable all-female biker gang inspired by the Queen of the Monsters, the "Nemesisters".Every step drives them closer to the unthinkable, and asks the questions:
How many must be sacrificed to save the world from the ever watchful gaze of Nemesis ?
How much more will she demand when the world needs saved ?
"
We'll find out November 21, 2023 when the book comes out.
